Dredging/EOD Support: In preparation for the arrival of the Royal Navy’s largest ever warships –The Queen Elizabeth and the Prince of Wales –RS Divers were contracted to provide dive support to Boskalis, the company responsible for preparing the navigational channels.
Whenever objects were identified on the seabed, dredging stopped and RS Divers searched the bottom to locate and classify the objects so that they could be recovered or, as happened on a few occasions, the EOD dive team could prepare the unexploded ordnance for detonation.
RS Divers supported Boskalis for the 18 months that this job lasted, diving over 200 times on unclassified seabed objects.
