RS Divers did not have far to go to tackle this challenge. Just yards from our headquarters in Old Portsmouth, a fishing boat sank in the harbour after its spring line got trapped on a quay wall in a rising tide. We were contracted to salvage it for its owner.
WORK UNDERTAKEN
Our experienced professional divers sized up the situation, drew up a salvage plan and contacted colleagues at nearby Baker Trayte Marine to bring two cranes to the scene. Our team attached long straps to both the bow and stern of the vessel and the cranes slowly lifted it out of the water until it broke the surface. At this point, our surface swimmers helped to pump out the boat until it was dry again.
THE RESULT
The fishing boat’s owner was pleased to be reunited with his vessel after it was safely lifted clear of the water and pumped dry.
“As usual a quick effective service from RS Divers! Many thanks.” Tim Trayte BT Marine
Working with Ranelagh Sailing Club in Putney on the River Thames Embankment, our commercial dive team were commissioned to inspect and replace the clubs’ mooring buoys.
RS Divers Ltd. were contracted to salvage two boats and a pontoon that sunk during a ferry’s evasive manoeuvre causing the floats to rip during a heavy storm.
